Ipsy bag February 2013!

This is actually my third Ipsy bag but since I just started blogging this will be my fist review!

A little bit about Ipsy is that is $10 a month and you get 4-5 sample and sometimes full size products every month along with a cute little makeup pouch!

It comes shipped in adorable pink bubble-wrap packaging!

Here is my first look at what is inside. The card to the left tells you about the products and every month each company the product is from offers some kind of deal to the subscribers such as 20% off your next purchase or buy one get one free on certain products! I love that added discount bonus from Ipsy.

A look at everything inside

Here are swatches of the coastal scents sample palette and they are offering 25% off your next purchase!

A sample with the flash, there were two palettes sent out, this one and one with more yellow looking colors in it so I am happier with the one I received!

Next was a black gel eyeliner from MICA Beauty which is a brand I had never tried before but they are offering a 30% discount on to Ipsy subscribers so I will be checking it out!

Next was the Smokey Lash Kapow Mascara by POPbeauty and they are offering 20% off your next order. I love trying new mascaras so I was very excited to get this!

Next was the Lash Cards that prevent you form getting mascara on your face when applying. I have never tried anything like this so I am interested to see how it works, they are also disposable. They are offering a buy two lash cards get one free deal for Ipsy customers.

Last was the Pixi flawless and poreless face primer. I always prime my face before applying foundation so this will definitely go to use!

Here is the inside of the little bag

This is not a good picture but it is a shiny black patent material and is much cuter in person! I love getting the little bags and I have last months in purse at all times holding my lip glosses and other small things so it is easier to find them!

Ipsy is one I get super excited for every month and have not been disappointed with yet! One thing that makes it different is that they include the little bag each month. For only $10 a month it is definitely a must try!

Julep Maven Box and Cupid Mystery Box February 2013

Ok so this is my first month getting a Julep Maven Box and I was so excited! Because you can order your first box for a penny with the code JULEPVIP I also went ahead and splurged on the Cupid mystery box for $19.99 and this is what I received....

My first look into my bombshell intro maven box. Julep has quizzes so that you can determine your style and then they will pick colors according to that but the nice thing is you can look at the other colors available and get a different box if you like those better!

All close up shot of what's inside

I got the color Chelsealip balm in spf 15 in vanilla mint, Kathleen and the essential cuticle oil

Cupid mystery box time! As you can see on top I received the one free nail color instead of a holographic color which was fine by me because there are so many colors on the site that I want! I don't know how I am going to choose! I also loved how this raffia was red rather than black for the special cupid box!

Safely packaged in bubble-wrap for safe traveling

In this box I got a lipgloss which for some reason is not on their Website, the color Morgan which I immediately painted my nails with, Petra which I plan to paint nails with for Valentine's day, Carrie, and finally Maria.

A shot with the flash on, it was hard to get a decent shot of these nail polishes!

Here is just a swatch of the lipgloss, it goes on pretty much clear but looks a little pale pink here on my hand.

I love love love my new Julep subscription! To order through my invite click on the Julep icon to the right of my page and you can also use my code 7746046 to join under my name! Did everyone else love their Julep box as much as I did? Or get anything else worth sharing? Also comment with any questions below!

Drugstore Makeup Haul

So as I said earlier I have been checking out other people's blogs and hauls and that inspired me to do a little shopping.  A lot of these items I heard about through blogs and others I just wanted to try for myself.

Here is a shot of everything I will be reviewing

First I got two new brushes from e.l.f.

On the left is a powder brush and on the right is the eyeliner brush that is not on their website, the powder brush was $3 and the eyeliner was $1

I had read many reviews about the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stain so I got two in the colors Crush (center) and Honey (right) and they were $7.99 but I got them buy one get one half off

The Covergirl jumbo gloss balm on the left I just picked up for fun it is in Watermelon Twist and it was $6.99

Flash (in order they appear above)

No flash

The honey revlon color is by far my favorite because it is the most wearable color for everyday use and it lasts forever!

Next I got the Rimmel match perfection foundation in the color 230 warm ivory and the match perfection concealer in 335 light/medium

The link says they retail for $6.99 and $5.99 but I got mine about $2 cheaper at Wal-Mart!

Then I picked up the NYC color wheel mosaic face powder in 722 translucent highlighter glow shade so I could set my foundation which I did with the powder brush up above. It was $4.99

The L'Oreal Lineur Intense felt tip eyeliner is my absolute favorite liquid liner of all time! It is the easiest to put on and I wear it almost everyday. I got mine for $8.99. Seriously if you are looking for a new liquid liner give this one a shot.

I have very unruly eyebrows and have been using the Anastasia Brow gel but it is $21 so I picked up the elf lash and brow clear gel to try out because it was only $1! I will be using both sides for my eyebrow because I can't tell the difference between the lash or eyebrow gel or the brushes.

Last but not least I had to try out the Nivea lip butter because I had heard so many great things about it.  Jennifer from Ramblings of a Suburban mom loves it so much she is including it in her February Favortie things giveaway! I picked up the flavors caramel cream kiss and vanilla and macadamia which is not pictured becuase I left one in my car to use. I love these!! They smell awesome and now I want to go back and try the raspberry flavor as well! These were $3.50 each but when I was at CVS last night I noticed they had a promotion for 2 for $5! I don't know why I didn't stock up then.

Ok so that's all I have for this post but I am constantly buying new drugstore makeup to try so I am sure there will be a new post up soon. Anyone have any suggestions to what I should try out and review next? Enjoy!

Tarte QVC purchase!

Well I didn't purchase this, my mom did but who's counting. QVC offered a one day flash sale on a six piece set of Tarte products in the worlds cutest pink chevron bag. I actually heard about it through sarahbelle93x on her Youtube video.  I knew my mom was a QVC lover so I called her right away begging for this deal and she ordered it and had it sent to my apartment (which is also pink). But anyway it is called the Journey to Natural Beauty and it included six FULL sized products!! It was on sale for about $60 with tax and everything but I have included the prices form the tarte cosmetics website so that you can see what the normal retail price would have been.

The cutest chevron pink bag! It actually folds open to become larger if needed.

I couldn't find the bag online but I'd say it's worth about $15 because it's chevron and pink, 2 of my favorite things, and I am obsessed with it!

A close up shot of the back of the bag, it is a straw-like material

Another close-up of the front of the bag, I am obsessed if you can't tell

Here is just a shot of all the items that were in the bag

Here is the airbrush finish bamboo foundation brush with the bag because I wanted to show how cute the handle was with the matching pink pattern!

On Tarte's website this brush retails for $32 which is over half of what I paid for everything!

This is the Amazonian butter lipstick in plummy rose

This lipstick actually was not on the website so I think it is a new product featured in the bag but there other lipsticks on the site retail for $26

Swatch of plummy rose

Amazonian clay 12-hour full coverage foundation in medium

This foundation retails for $38 so combined with the brush I have already paid less for all six items than just those two!

Before rubbing in

Rubbed in, not a great shot but it is a perfect match on my face!

Amazonian clay blush in the new shade of fearless

This blush shade is not available on the site yet but the others retail for $26

I have this blush in two other shades and I love it!

Swatch of fearless, again I am sorry for the poor quality picture these were all taken with my iPhone

Lights, camera, flashes! statement mascara
This mascara was not available on the site but the others retail for $19
I love the packaging of this!

the brow architect shaper, liner, and definer

This is also not on the site yet but the other eyebrow products retail for about $20

This is a 3-in-1 eyebrow perfector where you hide strays and shape the brow with the concealer that pulls out from the middle then define with a pencil that come in a universal shade, then comb the brows to stay in place

The pencil is a triangle wedge type shape which is something I have never seen before!

Little booklet cover that came with the bag

An inside view with a description of all the products

There was also a little extra sample of Marajcuja Self tanner included!

Overall I am obsessed with this little kit because I love tarte products. I have tried out most of the products and am very happy with them! I am not sure if you can still order this or not. If you were going to pick just one thing to purchase I would recomend one of the blushes! They are super pigmented and I am obsessed with them.

Anybody out there?

Ok so I am brand new to the blogging world so bare with me. I have been obsessed with looking at other people's blogs lately so I thought I would just give making my own a shot. I love subscription boxes and currently subscribe to Birchbox, Ipsy, Popsugar, Goodies, and Julep. I will start to take pictures of all of them and post them on here for everyone to see!

Biotin Pills

Ok so I had heard about people taking the vitamin Biotin to grow out their hair, nails, and to help their complexion. All of those things obviously sound great so I was very intrigued. Anyway I was at Target the other day and I went to look for some and it was like THIRTEEN dollars for a tiny bottle so I of course was like no no no. So I was a little disappointed but I just couldn't justify that price for something I don't even know will work. So anyway I ended up going to Kroger that day and happened to check their vitamin aisle and guess what??!! All the vitamins were buy one get one FREE! Who doesn't love a good buy one get one sale? So I ended up getting the Kroger brand of Biotin just to save some money and it was $7.50. Much better deal than at Target and there were also 120 pills in the bottle! So naturally I got two because I don't really know anything about vitamins and I didn't know what other kind to get.  So now I am the proud owner of 240 Biotin pills. Needless to say I hope it works! Also the serving is three pills which is kind of a lot and the pills are HUGE! Like choke every time I take them huge. But I really want to see if they work so I am currently on day three of choking back the worlds largest pills. Hey beauty is pain. Have any of yall tried Biotin? Did you have good results?

Kroger Biotin Pills

Here is a size comparison picture, I couldn't find a quarter so I figured a peppermint would be a nice alternative
